Thrive in 5 Workplace Challenge - Package for Challenge Participants
INTRODUCTION
<Organization name> is proud to organize the Thrive in 5 Workplace Challenge developed for Canadas Healthy Workplace Week a fun and stimulating way to begin developing a healthier lifestyle! The challenge will take place between <enter start & end dates>.
It is important for you to know that the goal of this challenge is not to only reward those who complete the entire challenge (i.e. participate for five consecutive days), but to also reward those that have made an effort to participate during the week whenever possible. Remember that this challenge is supposed to be fun and exciting for everyone within the organization! So, although we encourage you to participate for five consecutive days, you are free to choose the number of days you would like to be involved in the challenge. Keep or delete this last sentence based upon what your organization has decided upon.
HOW DOES IT WORK
The Thrive in 5 Workplace Challenge runs for one week (i.e. Monday to Friday) and the goal of the challenge is to help you develop a healthy lifestyle in a fun yet exciting way! Each day of the week has a specific theme and a main activity that coincides with the theme of the day. The five themes are:
- Monday Sharpen Your Mind Day
- Tuesday Healthy Choices Day
- Wednesday Gifts of Giving Day
- Thursday Fitting Fitness In Day
- Friday Build a Community Day
Individuals are asked to engage in healthy activities in order to earn your hearts throughout the week. For each day, there is a main activity to complete. When it is completed, fill in your heart in the activity log sheet that is provided to you in this package. Please note that the challenge is self-tracking and is based on the honour system.

WHAT YOU NEED
In order to participate in the Thrive in 5 Workplace Challenge, you will need the following documents. Please note that these documents are provided to you in your participant package.
- Participant Log Sheet in order to fill in your healthy hearts, you are asked to complete this activity log sheet. Five (5) activity log sheets have been provided to you in case you will be participating on an irregular basis. Decide to keep or delete the highlighted sentence depending on how frequent your organization wants participants to drop off their log sheet.
- Handouts for each day there are some main activities that have multiple sheets of paper to fill in or read. For this reason, handouts have been clearly marked so that you know which handout(s) correspond with the specific day and activity.
HOW TO COLLECT YOUR HEARTS
Its simple! Since the purpose of the Thrive in 5 Workplace Challenge is to promote healthy and balanced lifestyle, participants earn one heart per day by completing each days main activity.
You are asked to hand in your completed log sheets to <enter name/department name> by <enter day, date & time AND frequency of drop offs>.
Dont forget to write your Name on your log charts!
Prize draws will be held <enter dates or frequency of draws> for participating in the Thrive in 5 Workplace Challenge each day. A final prize will also be drawn at the end of the Thrive in 5 Workplace Challenge to reward those who participated for five consecutive days. To qualify for this, you must submit your completed Activity Log sheet by <enter date> and have all your hearts filled in!
